I worked in the preservation department and found the quiet down there peaceful. But, yes the lack of lighting can make it a somewhat spooky, think of it as an adventure.

Agree with what everybody said about reply all. Perhaps listserv membership should require some sort of reading comprehension test…then again a lot of life could require that test, too

I am a happily employed alumni and stay on the listserv to keep informed. I especially like to hear updates to the DLIS program, faculty updates, and grant opportunities. However, if there is a listserv specifically for alumni, that would probably be more useful to me.

I read a lot of stuff that comes across the listserv, and I also write a lot of the stuff that I’m sure gets deleted. I agree with people needing to learn how to not hit “reply all”…it gets annoying after a while. My feeling is read it or not, it’s up to you, but if you choose not to read it you may miss out on some important information or events you didn’t know about. It’s your choice.

Much of what we get is great information, but there are sometimes too many Replies to All that are unnecessary.

I only read things on the listserv that come from Ellie Jones. No wait, actually I read everything, but I totally agree with the above comment. Too many repeat emails about irrelevant things are annoying.
